Changes in 2017

As a professional therapist I ‘should’ have been marketing myself as your ‘go to guru’ for your NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS.  But I just couldnt do it, in fact, I am staying relatively “off the radar” untill January 19th.

WHY?  Because January 19th is the day that MOST people have already thrown their New Years Resolutions out of the wintery window!

If you haven’t that’s great! 👍🏻

Now hold on, before you judge me a scruge of NY Resolutions, I am not completely writing them off, they work brilliantly for some people, in fact they work brilliantly for a lot of people, and there is no time better than a new year to make changes, other than ‘NOW’, whenever your ‘NOW’ is.

Also the idea of New Years Resolutions although, like I said it works for many, there is a struggle with the concept.  The whole name of it ‘New Years’ can suggest that it is just for the ‘New Year’ the new part of the year, and the more we say this to ourselves and others it is likely to reinforce to us that we are doing this for the New Year period.

Secondly, the word ‘resolution’ it seems like a bit of a battle, to have to ‘resolve’ something can carry negative connotations that we might not be consciously aware of, making it potentially a struggle before we even begin.

So if you took on a New Years Resolution and didn’t stick to it, PLEASE DON’T BEAT YOURSELF UP ABOUT IT.  Making permanent change isn’t always easy.  But I am here to help you do just that.

Making positive changes for a better tomorrow, TODAY.

A major factor in my choice not to jump on the NYR bandwagon was the overwhelming spillage on social media of fitness this and health that.  Yep thats great, you have a business and it can help people lose weight and be more healthy, but this type of ‘before and after image’ promotion all over facebook (often from people endorsing a product they havent been successful with themselves 🤦🏻‍♀️) and instagram can make people feel bad about themselves, just for resembling something like some stranger’s ‘before’ picture.  Worst of all they could FEEL FABULOUS as that before image!

Something I know I repeat a lot but it is so important, WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT, you can be fabulous as a before picture and F***** as the after picture.  They say a picture tells a thousand stories, well it also can hide the true one.
Remember back in the day when Geri Halliwell left the Spice girls, lost loads of weight, ranted on about yoga and launched her solo singing career?  Then you will probably remember what happened after a few top ten hits as a solo artist, she came out about the fact that she was so slim and trim because she was suffering with bulemia nervosa.  She has gone on to lead a healthier lifestyle, eat well work on her wellness and a decade later, a few pounds heavier, ginger spice is the picture of health!

I also personally think she was sexier with a fuller figure, but that’s exactly NOT THE POINT!  It’s not up to me or you or your boyfriend’s sister to determine what’s attractive or not.

There isn’t a universal concept of attractive.  In fact in some countries “You’ve put weight on” is a compliment and bigger women are regarded as more attractive.

If you are healthy, feel well and sexy as a size 6, or 16, the only thing that is going to determine your level of CONFIDENCE & JOY in this life is YOU.

So from the 19th of Jan you might see my face popping up around a bit more honking my Hypno Mama horn on making positive changes in your life, until then, FEEL FABULOUS! 💜✌🏼
